I made some more progress on Sean’s Dragon. This is his 3rd trip out form Alaska to get his back piece finished. He is a total warrior- I tattooed him two days in a row!

This tattoo is on one of my number 1 fans. Just thought I would post a progress picture of his tattoo.

I started Myles’ tattoo in Miami, about a year ago. He originally just wanted a foo dog on his chest, but I didn’t want to do a small foo dog tattoo, so we ended up doing just the front half of it. He came in recently to get the rest of the foo dog done, and with plans to make it a half sleeve. It is an unusual way to start a sleeve, but with the proportions, it will work out good!

Last year, my client Steve got a dragon head and claw; chest panel done. He came back recently to add the dragon’s body. Steve was nice enough to send me some healed pictures of the tattoo, and also gave me a super awesome tip!

Not only is Steve a photographer, he is also a master knife-maker. The beautiful pocket knife he gave me, is made with Damascus steel, and has a Mastodon ivory handle!!!! If you are interested in cool knives, I urge you to check out his website.

I haven’t posted in a while as I am getting ready to move to New York City!
Here is a tattoo that I enjoyed doing recently. I usually do more ferocious tigers, but my client wanted something more serene. He wanted to get it as big as it would fit, which worked great because I could really get in to the texture of the fur.

This was a fun one-sitting tattoo that I did recently. I do a lot of Koi fish, and I try to do something different each time, to keep it fresh.

It’s funny how everything makes a comeback, eventually. I haven’t done a dreamcatcher in probably 15 years! It has come to my attention, that dreamcatchers are the new ‘hipster tattoo of choice’. I foresee wizards, pegasus…. or a combination of both in the near future.

Mutsuo 3

My client wanted a samurai tattoo on his inner arm and I talked him into doing it as a kite. I was glad he was down, because a full body samurai would have way too many lines in a small space. Since he had traditional American style work on his outer arm, I thought this would match up much better.
Japanese  kites have a wonderful bold style that work perfectly for tattooing.  They are designed to be seen from a distance, but they are just as beautiful up close! I hope I get to do more of this type of work in the future.
